Project Description
Located in Adelaide’s premier entertainment, cultural and hotel precinct, the Adelaidean is set to become the tallest building in South Australia when completed in 2020. This 36-storey mixed-use tower has a collection of 88 executive residential apartments, a 400 space car park and incorporates a 4-star hotel with a podium entertaining area that makes the tower the CBD’s tallest building at 134 metres high.
Design3 were appointed in June 2019, by Urban Glass & Aluminium, to provide glazing shop drawings for the main glazing contractor on several floors. Interestingly, a primary documentation company had been engaged for the simple and repetitive curtain wall floors, while Design3 were engaged to document more complex bespoke glazing package. Engaging Design3 to complete the more technically difficult package, proved greatly beneficial to the client both from an efficiency point-of-view, as the additional package was time critical, and also as Design3 were able to provide a high level of design input to optimise buildability of the glazing façade.
