Project Description
Located at the boundary of Adelaide’s CBD and its cherished parklands, the redevelopment of the Reid Building aims to enhance the city’s urban environment and identity. This project involves refurbishing the existing Reid Building—formerly the University of South Australia’s School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences—and adding a new six-storey structure with a rooftop terrace and a glass atrium that connects both buildings.
Design3’s role in Stage 2 focused on the design documentation for the cladding system. We detailed the feature window shrouds, which were fixed to stainless steel outriggers, ensuring seamless integration with the new facade elements. Additionally, we provided designs for the curved, powder-coated aluminium panels on the balconies and the CFC soffits, which were installed with precision to achieve the desired finish.
Our involvement underscores our expertise in facade design and cladding documentation, contributing to the modern aesthetic and functionality of the building. By providing detailed design solutions and ensuring accurate integration of the facade elements, Design3 enhanced the building’s visual appeal and its alignment with the urban environment.
