Project Description
Design3 was appointed by HGN Design to provide comprehensive façade engineering and shop drawing services for the Jesmonite (a premium type of Glass Reinforced Concrete [GRC]) cladding works on the Karrinyup Shopping Centre redevelopment in Western Australia. Jesmonite GRC, known for its distinctive properties and specialist engineering requirements, was selected as the façade cladding material for this high-profile project.
With extensive experience in GRC cladding and a proven track record of collaborating with HGN Design on previous Jesmonite GRC projects, Design3 delivered the niche engineering and documentation needed for this bespoke façade system. Their expertise ensured the precise execution of the complex Jesmonite GRC cladding, contributing to the project’s architectural success.
The redevelopment of Karrinyup Shopping Centre significantly expanded the facility from 59,715 square metres to 109,000 square metres. The completed project introduced a variety of new large-format international retailers, high-quality fashion outlets, diverse food and entertainment options, and 134 upscale residential apartments, transforming Karrinyup into a premier shopping and lifestyle destination.
