Project Description

Designed with a technically complex façade of weathered steel panels (Corten steel) and CNC cut stone cladding (including granites, sandstones and limestones) built on a structural steel sub-frame, this MRA Government Project represents an important development of Perth’s CBD infrastructure and community connection. The Lyons and Iredale Pederson Hook designed buildings and public spaces have been construction by Doric as the main contractor engaging Design3 to carry out the façade design and documentation for this striking design and construct façade.

The precision set-out required for the weathered steel panels (Corten steel) and stone cladding façade required 3D Laser scanning of the underlying substrate and conversion of this complex Point Cloud scan data to BIM and 3D CAD models by Design3. The 3D models created by Design3, were then used to develop millimetre accurate set-out drawings and Details to ensure accurate and efficient construction by the builder.

Construction cost: $75M
