Project Description
The Forrestfield-Airport Link is jointly funded by the Australian and Western Australian governments and will deliver a new rail service to the eastern suburbs of Perth – with three new stations at Redcliffe, Airport Central and Forrestfield.
Design3 were engaged by Com-Al WINDOWS to produce 3D Revit BIM models (to level of detail [LOD] 400) for the glazed facades for the three new stations. Custom detailed Revit families were made for all the windows, skylights and curtain walls.
The challenging part for Airport Central station was the Skylight, which was designed as a curved shaped curtain wall with various radii. So, each mullion and transom connection needed to be modelled separately, based on unique connection angles on both sides of the skylight.
Construction cost: $1.86 Billion
